Pest Droppings

Insects and rodents are very good at hiding so you need to look for droppings in out of the way places. Look behind boxes, in nooks and crannies and storage areas.

Evidence of Gnawing

Evidence of gnawing can be seen on food packages that are shredded or torn. Also check around the walls and floors for small holes that may indicate an infestation, as rodents like to gnaw on things.

Nesting Materials

Rodents use different kinds of material for nesting. Inspect areas that rarely see the light of day for shredded bits of paper, insulation or cloth. Look behind large appliances and inside cabinets.

Sawdust Piles

If you see small piles of a powdery substance around molding and windows, it could be sawdust from a pest that eats wood. Other signs include molding and trim that has become loose, warped wood, sagging floors or mud tubes. Termites travel in mud tubes that they build with dirt and small bits of debris.

Dead Bugs or Wings

Bodies of insects or shed wings can be found on windowsills, basements, and other places. Finding a few is normal but if you find a lot, you need to contact a pest control company.
